In the great tradition
of all good record labels we
decided the first thing we were going to release was
a sampler. It's like a shop window you get to see/hear
everything we have and decide what you would like to
buy. It was also a great way to put all the bands
together in one virtual place and hear them one after
another. When we first sequenced the record we were
amazed at how well it worked as an album, even though
none of the bands had ever met or even heard each other
it worked as a whole. There was a unifying seam of
melody and rythmn. Once we had the music we took it to
Guy Davie at The Exchange in London to make it work
sonically, to even out some of the differences in level
and tone but it turned out he didn't have to much either
apart from work his usual magic.
Once the music was done we realised we had something
very special and wanted it to be packaged in something
special as well. We asked long time friend and artist
Anna Dorfman to illustrate and design the cover.
The end result is Nothing Concrete 99X/10 Sampler 05.
It has 19 tracks and just under 76 minutes of new music

We are very proud
of it and it is our first release available now
from our store, cd
baby or as a digital download from iTunes (coming soon)
